Editor's notes

The Louis XVI style is all about the details.  We love the gently tapered legs and the delicate brass inlay that give this simple table a little extra va va voom.  

The original extension leaves were lost long ago and a former owner fashioned replacements from fir to restore the function. We think the round silhouette is just lovely, and when extended, a vintage French sheet thrown over the table can hide the imperfection of the mis-matched leaves.  Or perhaps you'd rather embrace the imperfection and have a story to tell your dinner guests.
